Can anyone advise on a good plant for our bathroom, it gets rather humid and has two small windows that filter the light. Ideally something fairly small - 15cm height?

I heard something about an 'ant plant' is good for bathrooms.

I have personally always had a peace lily or an aloe vera plant in my bathroom and these have alwasy done well. I also heard that african violets are well suited as a bathroom plant but have never tried this as of yet.

What direction does the window face and what are the minimum temps in winter? I have an east facing window in my bathroom and Phalaenopsis and Cattleya Orchids thrive there.

Peace Lilly would get my vote too, but they grow to considerably more than 6 inches.

          Dendrobium kingianum "Berry Oda"?

It needs a cool spell to get it to bloom, and it does grow to about 20/25cm tall. It is also out of season in the GC's.

Clorophytum (the spider plant) is very easy, but I've had flower spikes on it of half a metre.

Thank you for the suggestions. There are two windows in the bathroom, one facing east and one facing south. Both are 1 x2 feet. Gets pretty cold in winter and fair warm in summer.

More ideas please! You guys are great. How about orchids?

D.kingianum is an orchid and your temps seem good to me too.

If you're looking at trailing plants then your conditions should suit Ceropegia woodii pretty well..................

African violets as posted above seem a good suggestion... if you do get African violets, put small stones in a tray and sit the plants upon them, whilst keeping the tray filled with water.. it keeps the African violet looking in excellent condition
