For a full sized, trouble free and very early tomato I recommend New Girl F1. It's much tastier than Moneymaker and better yielding. :dbgrtmb:

I've made a start, sown Gardeners Delight and Arnold F1 (rootstock for grafting).

Heres a tip, always check your compost bags before sowing :) I didn't and ended up sowing using John Innes #2 rather than JI Seed compost :oopss: . Silly me grabbed the wrong bag in the dark last night, well it was around midnight. I had a sudden thought after I went to bed, checked this morning and realised I'd used the wrong stuff. I hope they will be OK, if not I'll start again

Jwk, I don't think it will cause a problem. Until this year I used any compost and all my seeds germinated.

                  Freddy,
I have a confesion to make. Please don't be too hard on me.
Couldn't resist a moment longer and I couldn't get out in the garden too mizzly.
So, oh dear, I sowed the:
                  Angelinas giants
                  Red Robin
                  Sungold
                  Maskotka
and the Postman left me a letter from a GC gardener who sent me,in exchange for some of Angelina's seeds, 2 more to try/sow. His own Fuertuventura and a Turkish one - both tried and tested.
So, my meals will be somewhat tomato based this year I think !!
                  Jenny

With a cold March promised I think I'm going to hold fire on sowing my tomatoes for a couple more weeks and see what gives. :)
