Grow your own mushrooms B&Qverve

Hmmm ... might make one of those when we refurbish the kitchen I could amaze my house guests:

"Can't find the mushrooms, they aren't in the fridge"

"Have a look in the third drawn down"

There again, they'll just add it to the list of "Why Kristen is "weird" :(

 

I've tried to grow them once before without success....but now you've got me started Joolz
Needed more compost so while i was at it got a couple of button mushroom kit and a chestnut mushroom kit.....

Johns idea of 'kitchen drawers' made me think.....at work there is a skip full of beaten up pine bedside drawers.....off i tootled to work....had a rummage....found a set that wasn't too bad....bit of tittivating and it wouldn't be out of place in my conservatory ....went into the office to ask if it was OK to have them.......blimey what a carry on ...."i'll have to ask the area manager on Monday" was the reply......they don't normally allow it ........told them not to bother it didn't matter
I'll find another home for my mushrooms..........

 

So they'll pay for the skip to take them away, but won't give them away? Beggars belief ...

 

A couple of cardboard boxes should it loli,thats all this kit is, thick one on the bottom and the other is the lid x

 

Well we finally got 2 mushrooms ive never tasted a fresh mushroom before
Im very impressed well worth the wait

I cheated once - I had a kit here for my Granddaughter to grow and she was getting quite upset because they weren't growing so I went and bought some button mushrooms and stuck in - she was so excited.
