We are in our rainy season and quite torrentially heavy it is at times and within minutes it is blue skies, sunshine and 18c! Our lowest has been 12c this week. Yesterday I got the 'heavy' load of wash (jeans, sweatshirts, tee shirts, etc) wash and dried on the line whilst I read a book on the patio. It rained overnight and today we had lunch at the river and it was really lovely.

We are not complaining as we need the rain leading up to our six months of summer drought. :love30:

-1.2C here and falling sharply. It has remained at -0.6C until 20 minutes ago, but weve lost 0.6C since then.

-5C seems about right for dawn.. no chance of getting above 0C tomorrow, it'll be the first ever ice day recorded in March and very close to the coldest March night on record (since the first records were written in the area, 1869). As depressing as that is, it's also very impressive. Still a possibility this March will go down as the coldest on record if the predictions come off.

At this rate it'll almost be certain a number of records will be broken this March on my own records... to be able to say that barely 10 days in shows how unusual this weather situation is.

We awoke to snow today, which was very surprising for the island in March. A heavy covering on the hills and mountain and thinner on the lower ground. It thawed very quickly from the garden when the sun appeared for a couple of hours. 4C.....currently 0C

I pasted it, I was lazy!

        :dbgrtmb:

Well one record has gone already.. lowest temperature in the side of driveway, absolutely smashed.. previous was -0.2C, currently -1.4C.. that's going to damage a few plants! The intensity and concentration of this cold, is like something Ive never seen before... ground frozen to 5cm, in a matter of a few hours. Amazing.

After a weekend of practically constant south wind, the temperature is starting to drop - it's about 5Âșc at the moment, dry but cloudy with a good possibility of rain later.

Light covering of snow, minus 1.6C and a vicious Easterly wind. Opened the front door -NE facing, and the doormat is covered in snow. There is fine snow still falling,

Very cold wind here today, with the occasional snow flurry - not lying though.
