    Hiya simbad

Interesting that. Me and John (JWK) were discussing this a while back (in this thread), about whether or not Marmande could be grown under cover. I was saying that I seemed to recall they should only be grown outdoors, and John had tried them in his greenhouse, and they failed.

Interesting and I thought this variety did better in a greenhouse , maybe I'll try a couple outside this year to compare, may get a bigger crop:) , mind you I do give plants to a friend every year who grows them on his patio and he's never said he's had any problems.

Hello and a big welcome to the forum and this thread Hunterm8

What sort of self watering planter have you got? I've been using the greenhousesensation Octogrow these last couple of years, I'll use it again this year although I'm not yet convinced it gives me better results than growing straight in the soil. The biggest advantage for me is solving the holiday watering problem.

I'll add your selections to the list at post #1 thanks.

                Hi JWK

I grew in GHS Quadgrows last year. I also use them so i can leave them a few days without watering. They are at my allotment in a polytunnel, i don't always get chance to get down there daily.

I just don't know what I'll do if they all germinate!

120 tomato seeds sown today, 10 different varieties, maybe more 'cos I was given a cherry medley packet of seed.

Also sown some brassicas, potted on some onions, very productive day :)
