Well, I've decided it's time to sow and I've sown enough to get me 20 plants in total of:

    Black Seaman
    Shirley
    Alicante
    Jaune Flamme
    Rosada

20 plants should be sufficient to give me and my neighbours enough toms to get through the year. Can't wait until I taste the first one off the vine!!:hapydancsmil: :snork: I've got more than enough seeds of all varieties to do a second sowing in the seond week of April should I need to.:coffee:

          Hello chums:)

I came across some seed I had left over from around two years ago, Super Marmande. So I thought "What the heck, might as well sow a few". So I've sown just four seed, in the hope I'll get two to germinate, which is all I need (just to try them, as my previous attempt ended in failure, blight) Please add to list John:blue thumb:

          Cheers...Freddy

I've sowed my tomatoes today, I just hope I don't regret it, fingers crossed. I've been holding fire because of the cold weather but it doesn't look like it's going to improve for the next week or so - so it's a case of doing what the fair maiden did! :heehee:

Got it. Thanks John, that looks SO much easier than my trays

Could stick a plastic propagator lid over the whole tray too.

Yes I did until the first seeds germinated, it gets too hot under my lights with the lid on :dbgrtmb:

The seeds I have under Metal Halide are drying out too much ... but the MH will be fine once the seedlings are bigger (and better canopy penetration then too)

The seedlings under tubes are much happier

I think it might be worth cutting the tray-liners into individuals - then I could hoike one out that has germinated into a separate tray under lights, and leave the non-germinated ones under a propagator lid to keep the humidity up until germinated.
