      Its odd, but I was trialing several different varieties last year, which i'd marked with plastic lables. Not a single lable to be found now & i've dug it all over:dunno:

      Probably washed away in the floods Zigs - in fact, they aren't actually potatoes that you planted, but rather ones that have been washed onto your plot from the local Tesco :heehee:

        Got a sneaking suspicion that the Rooks nests opposite now contain shiney lables.

        Had a load of stainless steel dowels pinched by Jackdaws from 100 foot up a church tower once.

        Ah, almost certainly your culprits then.

        That reminds me, I must start putting the tumble dryer fluff out on the dry days for our woodies to pinch for their nest; I see that the pair that we had nesting in our buddleia tree last year are back again this year, so presumably they will be nesting and having more babies.

          No, he's got Woodpigeons, i've got Woodpeckers but apparently theres a cream you can get for it.

            My garden is covered in wood pigeons :gaah:

            And they all seem to find my lawn infinately fascinating! Why!? :dunno:

              Woodpigeon breast braised in butter? My .22 air rifle is at the back of the coal cellar, got a girt big fridge freezer blocking my access to it, damn it!
