    Isle of Man devastated by snowstorm, trees down, power out. Her end of the Island cut off.

    No heating only candles for light & worse of all, no Gardeners Corner access:thud:

    I did check, and she's ok for Loo rolls:phew:

      Funny enough, when I heard that Dumfries & Galloway had taken a pasting, I did wonder about Sheal.

        Poor Sheal. I'm planning to go over to Cumbria tomorrow, maybe if I take a massive catapult I might be able to get some supplies over to the IoM.

          This is why I have a generator, mobile broadband dongle (+dongle router + Sim card awaiting awaiting emergency use), calor/butane gas stoves, a Kelley Kettle, stacks of logs (+ petrol chainsaw), stacks of pallets (+ cordless jigsaw to cut them up), old toasted sandwich makers for use on open fires, loads of stockpiled tins, some 5 litre PET bottles of water (that will be used for homebrew demijohns), plus an inverter some anything can be charged up when taking a car for a drive.


          P.S. Almost forgot that I've also got nearly 100 gallons of homebrew stashed away/fermenting.

              No, just live in a village with appalling infrastructure, plus have been around a few similar sort of places over the years.
