As long as she has plenty to keep her warm and safe. Pray her power will be back on tomorrow. Thinking of you Sheal. God bless.

Edit: Trust me to be behind the times!

We haven't had snow like this since 1994, being closely surrounded by sea it keeps the temperatures up. Although at that time I wasn't living in this village, it was cut off for seventeen days back then. Unfortunately the village runs parallel to the mountain/hill range which runs down the centre of the northern half of the island. When the snow comes in from the east it clips the mountain and drops on us on the western side. :)

A Hercules aeroplane flew supplies, milk bread etc. in for the Co-op yesterday in case we were in for a long haul with the boat and seacat not being able to sail due to gale force winds. My nearest one's five miles away, so no good to me anyway.

Yikes:ouch1: , that looks quite severe even from a Scot's point of view...crack open the whisky for some inner warmth and I do hope it all disappears soon.

                        Thanks again everyone.

                        I'm teetotal Silu. :)

A slow thaw apparently, so at least a week I would think before it goes and two or three days before we'll be able to get the car off the drive.

Fantastic photos Sheal. Thanks for letting us see what life's like on the island. I'm astounded as I thought the IOM would be fairly safe from major snowfalls and frosts.
We've been very lucky here on the east coast though it's been bitterly cold and snowed on and off for a few days it hasn't amounted to much.

wow, that would normally be a once in a lifetime event.

I remember in 2000 I think it was when Cornwall was also completely cut off by snow, even down to the coast. The west sometimes gets it very bad.. thankfully it's infrequent.
