Sowed mine today:dancy: Mind you, it's not very pleasant out there, so my elation was a bit tempered. I sowed, Country Taste, Rosada, Cuore Di Bue, Ferline and my favourite, Sungold. These are all destined for the border in the greenhouse. Sowings for my outdoor ones will be made in another three weeks.

        Cheers...Freddy

The Big Zaks germinated first but my Big Boys are virtually all up now and running.

It's going to be interesting to see how an F1 hybrid (Big Zak) performs against my open pollinated "Big Boys".

I'm growing "Delicious" as well, the current world record holder for weight, but was disappointed with last years result, had some seed left over and thought "Why Not"?

I will be sowing some saved seed from the monster "Big Boy" I grew last year, whether it's viable seed or not .... I don't know, time will tell.

Now I'm inundated with tomato seedlings, anyone want to buy some? 50p each, buyer collects! :dunno:

            Hiya Vince.

Are you only growing large varieties?

I hope not Freddy! I've also sown "Harbinger" (standard). Gardeners Delight (Cherry) and San Marzano (Plum) but it's the big ones that have germinated first!

            Hiya Vince.

Have you grown San Marzano before? I grew them a year or two back, but found they didn't ripen properly, staying green on top:scratch:

I sowed all my indoor and outdoor ones on the same day, after all these weeks of planning and thinking to myself I'll start the outdoor ones later, I just got carried away and forgot my plan :old:

                      Almost a disaster! :cry3:

Someone switched off the power to the greenhouse on Saturday night, I've lost about 5 of my giants but it could have been so much worse, I'm glad now I sowed a few extras!
