With my car registering -7 at about 8am this morning and prior to a couple of days ago everything in my garden was covered in that white stuff I don't mention anymore, gardening here has been impossible and still is.
While spending a considerable amount of time indoors instead of being out and about as per the norm, as I'm watching mindless daytime TV I have got a new "hobby". Making my own barkchip!!! I have been peeling bark off logs for the burner for about 3 months now and have huge amounts which will be used on the shrub beds if and when they ever defrost.
I was wondering if anybody else has taken up a new pastime which HAS to be less boring then mine!:)

Erm ... spending more time than is justifiable on GC forums  Does that count as a hobby? :heehee:

Ooooh, never thought to take the bark off my logs! Good idea

I do that, but then use the bark pile to light the burner with ... so no pile to put on the garden :( Don't you just burn your logs with the bark on??

I wonder if the birth rate will be up this Autumn ...
