    None of mine have germinated. I suspect I have kept the seed for too long ... ordered some more yesterday and, as it happens, went to Moles Seeds (free postage, so more worthwhile for a single packet unless one of the Big Companies is doing free carriage) and they have Giant Prague rather than the more typical Monarch which I have been growing for years. I've been thinking about growing this variety for some time, so will be interesting to see if it performs better (apart from the late start :( )

      I have a Cistus on my windowsill that will be pot bound by the time it is able to be planted outside.. it's growing at an extraordinary rate, and despite its drought tolerant label.. it's very water demanding. The fact I can't plant a Cistus in April is frustrating.

        Sowed what should be the last of my seeds today, apart from sunflowers. :)

          Had quite a productive time on a bright but cold day.
          Finished digging over the large vegetable plot, tidied up a scruffy patch and pruned a large Guelder Rose. Shredded all the prunings and other assorted debris.

          Finished off the day with that age old gardener's spring ritual, the first grass cut. :yay:

          After a seemingly endless run of wet or freezing weekends it was great to feel I'd actually achieved something today. :)

            I spent part of the day trying to unscrew my pressure spray so that I could use it to clean out my Green House. The pressure plunger housing wouldn't unscrew and and was jammed completely. I tried everything but nothing seemed to work making the pressure spray useless. I had made the mistake of not dismantling the Sprayer before I left it over Winter in the Garage.:dunno: So I went out and bought another one to replace the jammed useless one. As I was about to throw the jammed sprayer away I thought "Just give it another try"...........and it unscrewed easily:gaah: So now I have two pressure sprayers........:hate-shocked:

                  We had another bonfire yesterday. It took three hours as there were two more piles of prunings (at least the same size as the picture) that had to be fed to the fire. It started with the usual ceremony of poking and rattling the heap to try and chase out the livestock. No hedgehogs but a few mice.

                  I'll check today to see whether it has burnt down properly. I expect some of the periphery of the fire will have been missed but I'd had enough by 5.30 as the wind had kept changing all the time.

                  It was fairly hard work to keep feeding the hot spots and trying to get them to spread. This morning, I've still got a sore eye from smoke irritation.

                    I love a good bonfire! And that looks like a good bonfire :dbgrtmb:

                    Years since I've seen a bonfire in a garden like that; here we use an incinerator and, as lovely as it can be, it's not quite the same.

                    We have a bonfire that size at least six times a year. The last one was in January. I try to post them on here otherwise I get told off by the other 'ladies' on here :heehee:

                      Hi yesterday enlarged one of my borders ready to put new plants in.That was enough because of my back. Today going to get manure and compost to fill it in so that hopefully will be able to plant them up soon.:)
