David Cameron has just sent his offical letter to the Thatcher residence.

It starts "I regret to inform you that due to recent events you now have too many bedrooms..."

'Smeared' is a bit of an exaggeration to be honest.

Keep it clean people. No matter what we feel, someone has died.

I have my own personal thoughts about Maggie, but with regards to Council Housing a lot of City Councils don't even know exactly how many council houses that they have!!! I've never lived in a Council House but I have friends who do and they are so fed up with the incompetence of the Councils when it comes to repairs and the stupid rules they have invented. Being given the opportunity to buy your own house, Council or not, is the right of everyone but perhaps those living in Council Houses have more protection with regards being evicted than those in private renting and mortgages? We need more housing, built in Brown Field areas and not on the Green Belt which this present Government has said it doesn't recognise.
Maggie has gone, leave her in peace as she is no longer in this world and all the debating, cursing, nursing of old hatreds, extolling her virtues, etc are pointless. Get on with living.:coffee:

I agree with you Jenny but it was the only way we could move away from our neighbours from hell. We would still be living there if we had not bought it and been able to move on so property would not be available for anyone else anyway.

One day I will die, someone will be glad.. that's life.. completely natural. If I help ruin someone's quality of life, I deserve as much.

I think that's a little unworldly, Stephen, as unfortunately in everyone's life people do things that directly, or indirectly, affect other peoples quality of life. You can't avoid making enemies of different sorts as you live your life whether you want to or not. The fact that someone might be glad that someone else has died says more about that person than the person who died.:coffee::snork:

In the case of Margaret Thatcher, I and many others are not celebrating the fact she's dead, no we'd never do that, though apparently some are?. Anyway it's more that shes left in the wake a bitter taste in some people's mouths, and I guess they don't feel any remorse for her death.. if that makes sense. Glad perhaps the wrong word in hindsight.. more a case of lack of caring. She gave out tough principles, tough words.. she wasn't afraid to use her opinion and we were forced to accept it through her policies and actions, so I'd hope she'd accept mine.
