    Can someone, probably Mum :loll: , remind me why I am saving and baking and grinding up egg shells please. :redface:

    Hmm the only time I've used eggshells was to deter slugs/snails from munching my Hostas. Some sort of calcium additive maybe but that's a guess!

    What silu said....I tried it and didn't have any success. The slugs just kept on doing their thing!

    The snails will thank you for the eggshells, they are good for them!! the calcium is good for their shells!!!

      If anyone reading has problems with peach-leaf curl, a net bag of (unbaked) egg shells hung in the tree is supposed to prevent it:dbgrtmb: Some years it works, some years it doesn't...

          I do it to feed back to my chickens. It aids their digestion plus adds extra calcium which helps them produce good shells over their eggs (others use grit and oyster shell for the same reasons).

            Got no chickens, so it must be the slugs :eeew:
