    Guys I got a little problem ,
I bough a Manihot esculenta variegata

Unfortunally , was adverticed as sold in 9cm pot , but what i got was a stick
nothing more then a stick to be rooted .
I`ve tryed my best with rooting hormone , bag and perlite , but even after that
what i got is just mould growing on it .

overall the owner of the company , did admit the mistake and offer me compensation , wich I think it`s really professional of him.

any help on how to root it???? can`t find any information on the net .

Unless it was explicitly stated this was an unrooted stick i think you should get your money back.

has I can`t find any information on the plant , I don`t know if there is anything I can do to root the plant , maybe in a tropical country will root really easy , but not over here .

My guess is that it needs a fair bit of heat. So maybe try rooting it in a heated propagator. How long is the stick? It might increase your chances to make a new clean cut or if long enough cut it into a few pieces. Also can you tell which way round it goes?

Think I'd be inclined to lay it horizontally on a bed of damp sand in a propagator set at about 25-30C.
Might be best if the lid was left off, or atleast give it good ventillation, sounds like it rots easily.

        Guys all safe :dbgrtmb:......
after read Madahhlia link (thank you for that) ........
I had to check again and find the problem , the actual cutting had a worm inside
not a common worm , but some never seen it before and the actual stick was covered in eggs ........so even if my half didn`t like it ......all the plant end up in the microwawe .

the sand and compost was sterilized , the cutting was nicely cutted , was kept in an angle position , the plastic bag was keeping the cutting moist .

I do not point my finger to the seller .....it`s just a shame that will not have that plant in my garden this year

Tropical stuff is full of weird critters. I used to buy trinkets and souvenirs made from local wood when I lived abroad, sometimes they just ate themselves from the inside out. I remember having a little wooden musical instrument that shed sawdust as it sat on the shelf.
Maybe we're better off with the lily beetle.
