My heart both sank and went out to the people caught up in this but also the thought of "terrorist attacks" starting again :what:
My first thought was North Korea, do they have any history of this type of behaviour?

I'd be surprised if it was North Korea to be honest - just don't think its their style? They've obviously been making lots of threatening noises, but I don't really think they would do something on as small a scale (and I don't wish to detract from the severity of the event by saying that its small scale) - if they were going to do anything, I reckon it would be big if only to show the flex of their muscles?

I think you are right FC, they are all about the talk and nobody has claimed responsibility. Listening to the Jeremy Vine show at lunchtime, it was suggested it could be the more "obscure terrorist" i.e. not Al Qaeda. Either way, so sad for the families involved.

An explosives expert was on the radio at lunch time. He was saying he could tell what type of explosives were used based on the shape and colour of the smoke cloud from the blast, as caught on camera. He went on to say that based on the type of explosive used, it was unlikely to have been any of the well known Islamic terrorist groups, because they usually use a different type of explosives, whereas the type used is more consistent with certain criminal gangs, and home grown militant groups.

Whoever did it, they are sick, evil people, and I hope the authorities catch them soon.

Some of the photographs have been particularly upsetting. One man will stay in my mind for ever.

Doesn't matter "who" did it - just find them.

In some ways, my whole life, up to a certain point, was dominated by the threat of bombs from the IRA; so, having grown up with that, it isn't quite such a 'shock'; although it is still shock-ING!

For Americans, who have really not had to deal with this kind of thing, it must be so frightening, unnerving, alien to their culture.

My thoughts are very much with those who endured it, the victims who will forever live with the consquences of it, and those who have lost their lives and the families who will mourn them.

At some point, whoever is responsible, will be found and their story told.

I am deeply sorry for the relatives of anyone who has died throughout this, it does bring back all the thoughts of the indiscriminate bombings we had from the IRA.

I agree with what "Mum" says, it is alien to the Americans, we had to endure decades of terrorism. I will comment no more.
