I've been on the look out for early signs of all sorts of pests but I spotted this fella in the borders yesterday.

Needless to say he's been terminated. I've checked my large Lily pots and found another 5 so, since they weren't paying any rent, they've been terminated as well.:paladin: I'll be keeping an eye on things more closely now, methinks:snork:

I've decided not to bother will lilies this year because of these Red Devils.
I can't keep on top of them.
If mine paid rent last year I could of retired!

I managed to keep them in check last year and my Lilies suffered very little damage. I suspect these fellas have overwintered somewhere and come looking for others to make whoopee:snork: As I said I'll be keeping a close check on the Lilies every day. The only trouble to that is that I've been propagating Lilies for the last two years so I've got close to 800 of them around the garden in different sized pots...Ho, Hum!:snork:

I seem to have lost all my lilies this year, had loads of lily beetles last year, so I assume they won. I have a new batch planted up in a pot which I will keep in my back garden and see if I do any better.

Going on the stems it looks like it could be a Sedum. :)

Hmmmm, I had some lilly beetles on the one in my planter last year, and gave it a good dousing with provado; however, the lilly hasn't even begun to show its head yet this year, so I am hoping its not been overcome with the little blighters.

I've got a spray bottle of Provado, FC, but to be honest I'm very reluctant to use it as I don't know what negative effect it has on Bees and the like.:dunno::snork:

Going by my daughter's exclamations earlier today, the bee population appears to be doing just fine around my way - similar in size to Boeing's finest, apparently
