                  With the light rain that's been around all day I decided to plan on what to put in the two stone Cottage sinks that I've done little with over the last two years. That meant a trip to the Local Plant Nursery to see what Succulents were available and, to my surprise, they didn't have anything although they did have some Alpines. So it was a 30 mile trip to my favourite Plan Nursery at Arley Hall just outside Knutsford. They had some small succulents there so I bought 7 of them [I still need another five of other varieties.............and then a Dicentra Alba, an Astrantia Maxima, Two nice Irises ["Melton Red Flare" and "Dreaming Yellow", a Inula Magnifica, and a Leucanthemum [Shasta Daisy "Phyllis Smith"]............will I never learn.:dunno::heehee:

                    I got planting today, now the air frost season should be over here!.. I planted an Abutilon megapotamicum as a climber in the frost free side border.. it's going to do really well there.. also last few days I also planted a Passiflora pura vida in the same border, as well as moved one of the Jasmines. I have planted a few bulbs in the back garden, and planted some succulents in the arid sun soaked front garden border under conifers. Planted seeds also.. and got rid of plants I won't use, mainly cuttings I took last year that haven't taken, etc.. also planted an Agave americana in the arid border in the back along with some Agastache aurantiaca seedlings.. it's pretty much go go go after a very poor start to the season.

                        Very much so.. it's very nice to get started.. especially after itching to get started a few weeks ago.. but apart from some not so nice weather heading our way for the rest of April, it's onwards and upwards from here on in.. everything just need to grow a bit more now!

                          Taking advantage of fair weather I've transplanted some seedlings out into ground.:yes:

                          A few choy sum, edible chrysanthemum and mooli are in here

                          Beetroot, kohl rabi, carrot, turnip and lettuce are underneath these

                          As long as we don't have any more frost I think they will be alright. :spinning:

                          Also sowed seeds of 40 leeks, more cabbages, cauliflowers, carrots, beetroots, squashes, sweetcorns ......
                          Now it's time for me to have my feet up and enjoy a cup of tea :coffee:

                            I waited for the sun to burn off the frost and then made new edges to 100ft of lawn, mowed four lawns, dug some of the veggie plot and spent some time setting up the sprinkler in the front garden.

                            It took 20 minutes to unwind the hose, run it through to the front, unwind the extension hose and fit it, get the sprinkler, set it up, turn on the water and then get the sprinkler watering the right part of the bed. It took that amount of time because I ended up walking about a third of a mile to do it all! The garden is extremely dry and I've given up waiting for rain.

                            Now all I have to do is move the sprinkler every few hours. :blue thumb:

                              Exactly the same here shiney bone dry.
                              Gave all the perennials, shrubs and trees a good handful of growmore and then a thoroughly good watering with the hose.
                              Decided not to use the b&q bogof voucher, gave it to a work friend instead!
                              There a local plant fair in a couple of weeks on the market ill go there instead probably more unusual plant to be had.
                              Watered all the seedlings in the GH

                                Sown Pumpkins today along with some climbing courgette (Black Hawk) that I've never tried before. Then a couple of rows of Carrots and Beetroot, and some more peas and beans.

                                Pruned my new espalier apples, they are coming into bud.

                                Started off a batch of Samphire, I tried this last year with no luck so I'm using a muddier compost mix and put aside a watering can with rock salt specifically for them.
