What's wrong with my house plant...

It was fine last year,but now the leafs are turning brown, can I still rescue it? I've attached some pics.

Not enough humidity!!! I had one of these and it went just the same!!

Yes it is close to a central heather? Does this effect it.

It looks like a Parlour Palm Harry. If it is they don't like heat or sun and don't like dry soil, stand it in the coolest place you can find. They were very popular in the days before central heating.

It looks like the Areca Palm (Parlour Palm) and I have had one outside in the shade for three years now and mine looks like that even after our wet winter. Normal ... just snip the dead ends off.

 

Sorry Victoria, but no it's not normal. I have one and the only time the leaves look like that are when it's been near heat in the past or I've forgotten to water it. I'll post a pic tomorrow/later.

My Parlour palm as promised. A few brown tips on it which were due to lack of water.



Can you see the flower spike to the right of middle. They usually grow through stress, once again I think because of lack of water. I hasten to add I fed/watered it last week.
