Well that's the repairs on the GH completed. Here's some before and after photos.

Before it became a greenhouse it was a pig sty. This was about 30 years ago just before I started work with a sledgehammer and crowbar, lowering the front wall, breaking and removing the 3 inch concrete roof at the back and building up the rear wall.

All the glass was reclaimed from old windows. The main wooden framework sits on heavy teak timbers that were once colliery headgear. The central pane is/was a double glazed unit. This photo was taken about 20 years ago. greenhouse 1980s.jpg

Now the central pane has been replaced with twin wall polycarbonate. I've removed the two windows at each side at the front as the frames were well rotted and replaced them with hollow uPVC cladding. The wooden window frames at the side were replaced with twin wall poly carb a couple of years ago. This afternoon I found an old curtain rail just the right length and now have my builders netting shading attached to it so I can easily adjust the shading at the front.

It's looking good Dave. :dbgrtmb: It'll probably still be standing long after we're pushing up Daisies. :)

Depends on who throws it and how far, and since a banana is shaped like a boomerang it might come back.:snork:

You did a good job of the repair, it should last for years. Being a keen eyed ham, i instantly clocked the telescopic mast next to the water butt

Well spotted:blue thumb: , there's a 5 band 2 element quad on top of it. There's also a Butternut HF2V visible in the background and atop the big pear tree a 30m GP though it's out of sight in the photo. There's another Tennamast in the side of the house currently supporting a 5 element 6m yagi.

Guess you're right. :dbgrtmb: It's too compacted down there for it to grow.
