Aaaah now thats why it looks different to others I've seen.
I've seen Strikingly Dramatic on Sheilas its out of this world :wub2: can't wait to see yours flower, I was wondering how they'd perform here haven't seen any pictures of them in the UK yet  so think I'll hang on a bit, won't harm going for a look on Ladybug though :heehee:

Your type of soil will affect how the same flower looks. There is a group on Flickr that was set up by Kinnebrew to let people from different areas show what the Spacecoast series look like (he's the hybridizer for that series). I have a seedling from Arin Eder, who lives in Germany. It is cream orange for him and brown for me.

My plants from Pollie are in the mail, so I should get them late this week. In the mean time, I can look at this one:
Praire Blue Eyes x Blue Oasis (2).JPG
Prairie Blue Eyes x Blue Oasis. It is a red purple self with a blue purple eyezone and hints of blue at the tips. It has taken this 2 years to flower for the first time. Another first-timer is this one:
When Spirits Unite x Free Wheelin'.JPG
This is another sdlg of When Spirits Unite x Free Wheelin'. 7" across. It is a orangy-pink and yellow composite with pink eyezone and green ribs on the sepals, white ribs on the petals. Very flat. I also used it for my first cross of the season, using pollen from Dancing Chevrons.

If I was going to have 1 new plant open today, it would be Bluebird Butterfly:
              Bluebird Butterfly.JPG
It is the 4" size listed in the AHS database. Cream with a blue to cerise notched eyezone.

Tinkers got a lot wrong with this entry: the Parentage should be Fractal x Bit of Blue, it isn't a spider, the height & season are wrong, and when it really settles in the bud count should be 35-40 .

Maybe the one you bought was from a divided batch? I divided some of mine last year and had no flowers at all: growth, yes; flowers no. So, like you, I am optimistic for this year :)

I bought some (reduced) pots in January and they are looking very much like they are about to flower ( ) but, I really do need to get them in the ground

Spruce still not sure, Cherub. Waiting for them to flower so you can tell me

Oh, maybe you mean my potted ones? :dunno:
The one's looking like they are about to flower are "Stella de Oro" (bought, reduced, 8th January 2013); I have some others, Pixie Parosol (bought, reduced, 18th March) which are a lush green but nowt else right now.

Smaller daylilies need higher bud counts to compete with the big guys. The 4" Country Pride x Small Gesture [double, soft orange] I have has 30 buds and is still flowering almost every day! I also have Cosmic Courier [4"] which has 35 buds, and a very long flowering season before it reblooms and keeps going.
