I completed the Shineyframe for my beans - caught a bit too much sun whilst doing it and had to cool down :)

Added 60 canes to my deer fence as the deer are still getting over the 6ft fence. I've stuck the canes in the wire and they now form a barrier about 10ft high. Only the superdeer will get over that!

Straightened up an 11ft high lilac that had decided to to grow horizontally as the conifer above was making too much shade. Did the same for the 10ft ceanothus next to it. I had to cut away a lot of the conifer to make space and light and then needed help from Mrs Shiney to help straighten them up and strap them to a branch of the conifer.

I did a small amount of weeding and pruned some shrubs, with secateurs, to take off all the dead leaves and branches that the hard winter had killed.

Mrs Shiney did about three hours of weeding and then potted up about 100 plants for the plant sale. I guess we've got about 1,000 ready now. (When I say 'we' I mean Mrs Shiney! :heehee:)

I'd like to cut the grass (if the light rain goes away), move on more seedlings - remove the clearly dead tomato seedlings from the greenhouse (too hot in there yesterday methinks), clear the left border and plant my peas and beans (and make a suitable climbing frame for them), clear the right border and maybe remove my camelia that is way past its best. I think I am going to have to plant out my tree lillies as they are now too tall for their pots, and I also need to get sunflowers sown.

Tomorrow, I want to clear some of the old compost from my deep growbags and then get them refilled ready for this season, put some chicken manure pellets into my existing strawberries to give them a bit of a post winter boost, and then maybe plant out my onions and leeks.

Also to do is to move on the remaining seedlings that are now way too big for their trays, and I want to redefine the lawn edges a bit - mine will never be anything stunning thanks to dog/child etc, but al n you are of course welcome to come and work your magic on it! I want to widen the borders at the back of the garden a bit too, mainly so that I can plant tall stuff in them at the back with smaller stuff like marigolds nearer the front to make a bit of a backdrop to look at from the windows.

All I've done today is pot up two Roses and a couple of Acers.

Some Camellias to do tomorrow and then I can start pulling plants out of my borders ready for rearranging. Still haven't decided what is going where so may have to start a thread for some advice :help:

Need to mow both lawns tomorrow - doesn't half get in the way of gardening :nonofinger:

                    Yum yum, asparagus! :)

I've mowed, trimmed edges and done some pruning and tidying up.

Planted out 150 snowdrops in the green which turned up on Friday:

Judging by the number of holes in my lawn there were more like 250... Going to look good if even half of them come up next year !

Also washed out the waterbutts (empty already!) & refilled them. I am not, however, going to wish for rain just yet.

Cleared the rest of the garden and went to the tip. Mowed the lawn. Started to edge it, but my son decided to help and he has not got the strength or weight to push the edging tool down so I ended up on one side and him on the other. We managed about 7 m in 45 minutes :snork: Dinner stopped play so I will finish it another day.

If I am ever down your way mate, I'd love to pop in and give you a hand! Our dog has scorched the lawn so doesn't look nowhere near like it did, but hey, 2 kids, and a dog, I don't expect it too tbh. Gave it some fertiliser and a bit of tlc so hopefully, fingers crossed, it won't be long before it looks better..

Thanks for the compliment too FC :ccheers: :dbgrtmb:

Cleaned out one of the greenhouses (well hubby did) - washed down inside - found holes underneath where snails, mice etc been getting in so filled them in. Replaced plants and staging/shelves (a table in there disintegrated when we moved it out so had to get hubby sawing, screwing, nailing to make something up for "shelving" to go across) - replaced plants - amazingly had more room inside so half-emptied No 2 greenhouse for a good clear-out tomorrow. These have not been cleared/cleaned for 3 years so I am happy.

In the end, I didn't even get the grass cut today, let alone get my edging tool out! I have a box of grass seed for shady areas sitting waiting to be thrown over the bareish bits, but first I need to cut it, scarify it and then aerate it; hopefully that will make it look a wee bit better, although not up to your standards.

You're welcome by the way - you've done a cracking job :blue thumb: - I will endeavour to post some photos once mine is looking a bit better to see if it passes muster

Forgot to add the wee jobs that I actually DID manage to do today - I confined myself to the greenhouse, and moved on the last of the tomatoes, my Carribean hot peppers, my Super Hot Chillies, my Lemon Citrus Chillies, and sowed a few varieties of nasturtiums (trailing and upright varieties) even cheating with a few by sowing them direct into hanging baskets which are now hanging from the greenhouse roof. :)
