It's just over the border in Kent Ziggy.

We've never been before, found out it's the birthplace of Anne Boleyn and there's a great big four poster bed for when Sid James came a wooing :)

I'm only 20mins away from Hever Castle, and rate it very highly. It is a good one to take young children to as well.

I like the chair that is just inside the main entrance to the castle on the left hand side. Stupidly I asked if I could take a photo of it, and was rudely told no. I took the photo anyway!

A useless bit of trivia for you... My Nan was in born in the castle. :)

Thanks Vicky, it is a beautiful place. We would love to return in a months time when the roses and wisteria are out in the Italian garden.

It's surprising good for little kids, there's an adventure playground, tower maze and a water maze as well as the historical stuff. Plus the Yew maze (they do like their mazes!).

I know what you mean about taking photos, I was told not take photos as we went in, it was pretty obvious I was putting my camera away in its bag. I think they just want you to buy the guide book. Those carved chairs are pretty special, we did buy the guide book but it there were no details on when they were made or for who.

Amazing your Nan was born there, are you in line for the Astor fortune then?
