Having made it to a high of 14C yesterday we're now back to what is becoming the standard temperature of 12C today. A stunning day though, not a cloud in the sky. :)

A beautiful day here some thin high cloud for 1 hour @ around 11oclock, other than that a crystal clear blue skies. Thermometer read at 3'oclock 24'c yes 24'c :ccheers:
In the greenhouse reading 36'c alittle too warm in there so had to keep damping down the floor to keep the temp down.
Supposed to be nice again tomorrow but all change after that.
Oh we'll make most of it while its here?

Just what the Dr ordered - Sun sun and more sun - but by Wed we are supposed to get rain - I suppose after all this sun the plants will look forward to a good soaking.

We went to 28c today, above what we were 'told' and although there was a breeze at the river, it was warm and we put the fan on in the van but not the a/c. Pleased to get home to the orchards where we tend to feel cooler and enjoyed sitting on the kitchen patio with a drink before dinner.

In the main garden the microclimate gave us a temperature of 78.3F. A bit too hot for working there. so I was working in the cooler part with a nice breeze coming from across the fields.

Lovely yesterday and wall to wall sunshine this morning too so eventually the gloom and doom of such a protracted winter has lifted. Swallows arrived about a week ago and already making their mark (literally!) here. My dark blue car now looks like a Dalmation with 100s of "dits" on it, so going to have to move it out of the line of fire. Can almost see the garden growing as it appears to be trying to make up for lost time. I only cut the grass 3 days ago and by the looks of things it's going to need cut again asap. Even the lambs have stopped looking miserable and are bouncing about all over the place. So far no escapees to take over where the deer left off eating my garden but no doubt there will be a patter of small hooves visiting here before too long...sigh!:catapult: Have to give this idea a try!

          Maybe try this instead :doggieshmooze:

This morning has started with mild and sunny and the forecast is for more of the same today with possible rain tomorrow. I'll beleive it about the rain when I see it! Until then, it's sprinkler time.

I sometimes give my trees pats, sort of to say "well done" for getting through the winter weather. I also love that some are so old and I can only imagine all that they have "seen" so the old boys get pats too. 1 of my favourites (Sorbus Sargentiana) are just starting into growth and their huge bright red sticky buds are breaking, they look good enough to eat!.My other favourites are my Coppr Beech which are on their way out too. I love their colour when 1st into leaf. If I had to choose between keeping all my plants or trees I'd choose to keep my trees. I'm so lucky that they haven't been cut down by previous owners to make room for new houses/extra farm land. Unless they die they won't be coming down while I live here either

Even hotter today; the old mercury hit 25.9 degrees and its still 20.1 degrees now at almost 7pm!!!

A stronger breeze today, coming from the south east it provided welcome relief at times :)

Forecast is for sunshine and showers tomorrow and up to 16 degrees, then a couple of days of rain - apparently :snork: Encouragingly though the night time temps are forecast to stay up around 8-12 degrees which is good, it'll be soon time to move the cannas into the greenhouse before going out in June if thats the case :)
