Been wrestleing with a very neglected waterlilly.....the pond isn't usually my department but it desperatley needed doing as the fish could hardy move in there....I dragged it out of the pond first thing:phew: and left it for a while so the critters could get back in...still got jumped on by frogs though.....

What will you do with it Loli? Can you just cut through it and grow on the sections?

Got home from work to find my front garden had been transformed, my father inlaw had come down and spent most of the day sorting it out. He has done a fantastic job on it. So I took out an unruly rosemary at the side of the steps and planted a couple of trailing plants to hopefully cascade down the wall (I can't remember what they are called though). Planted peas and beans with a catch crop of radish in between. Planted a trailing Fuschia in the old chimney pot and then swept up the patio ready for pressure washing.

2 greenhouses now clean and tidy - one more to go (tomorrow) - garden is full of rubbish to be burnt/disposed of.

Put lots of plants out - been re-potting acers, and a viburnum plus repotting of new guinea impatiens and bacopa from plugs (am still losing plants that are in the rogue B&Q MC bag - namely the impatiens - would almost have been cheaper to buy them as plugs at this rate, but they might have been smaller). Planted up beef toms in 10 litre pots.

The half-rotted cherry tree next door has had beautiful late blossom - which is now shedding all over my garden, in my pots, over my rocket and salad leaves everywhere - even in my hair - looks a right mess out there - will be worse once the petals die.
Lots of snails about after the bit of rain this morning - accidently trod on one :eeew:

Managed to get a couple of quick jobs done this evening.

The winter brassica patch is still producing sprouting broccoli and the last of the winter cabbages, but getting a bit weedy. So a quick hoe and hand weed sorted that out,
(would have been quicker if I hadn't got tangled up in the pigeon netting). :th scifD36:

Then, bearing in mind the windy forecast for tomorrow, I knocked in some stakes and put string around the autumn sown broad beans, which are now about 1ft high and have started flowering.
Next job......go and get that beer that's sitting in the fridge. :ccheers:

Not much today - had to move all my tree lillies (still in their pots) back into the greenhouse to stop them being blown to bits by the wind.

The weeds are now growing like mad, especially chickweed and bindweed. We filled a wheelie bin with the weeds yesterday :hate-shocked:and don't seem to be making much headway

Too wet to do anything significant, so I settled for a quick check of the pond, borders and Green House. If it gets drier I'll plant some Irises.:coffee:

I've been doing a lot of weeding in the bright sunshine. Have to keep giving my back a rest so the tea breaks are getting longer.
