Its a political term, but the two words are to be used together otherwise the meaning is null:

              Excerpt from FC's innerheed dictionary:

"Global Warming" - a political term that means 'licence to impose punitive taxes in the name of being environmentally friendly' whilst also meaning 'a great excuse for having not built suitable drainage and water storage infrastructure' and can also mean 'a good excuse for not being able to explain changing weather patterns'

I would not talk about that :) , but we live in a country that rains at least 200 days a year and we pay more in water then dry countrys like Italy (who cost 1/3 ) and Spain (2/3) and I`m talking about 2 countrys where cost of living are the same as Uk .

As gardeners we are all worryed about our flowers and vegs , but this weather is getting our economy on the knee , no one is spending money and business are just losing money , many business are relay on summer but peoples are not spending any money at all .....

today I saw a dear friend of mine who own a coffee kiosk in town and told me that few more months like that and he is done , same story at the garden center , the bad weather is just killing plants and peoples are not buy anything , I`ve lost my job because of the weather , one of our main customer chain have made a loss in the first 4 months and cancelled all the order they had and the other have moved all the order to a date to confirm .....

Hailstones in mid-May are nothing new as I've had them shred:

                  1) Runner bean leaves when up to the top of the canes

                  2) Courgette leaves + mark the courgettes

                  3) Outdoor tomatoes and the fruits were spoilt for entering in the Aug Bank Holiday Show.

From that link in post #1

That seems about as good as forecasts of 50% chance of rain - meaning either it will rain or it wont.

                  Sal,
such horrid news, I am so sorry you have lost your job. The forcast doesn't bode well for many people and it will effect us all in the coming months when the cost of food starts to escalate,
                  Jenny
