I've lost the Image at the top, fonts are harder to read, and so on.

    Is it just me?

I've lost virtually everything and I'm only able to reply to what's in the Recent Postings list on the RH side.

I seem to be getting notifications of reported posts

I think it would be helpful if this work was done in DEV and then rolled out, rather than being done "DEV mode" on the live site whilst everyone is using it ... and getting confused etc.

Plus/Alternatively an announcement that "We are working on the site" would tell folk, that wanted to, to stay off the site whilst the work was being done. Even better if there was a "Notify me by email when we are done" button that went with the announcement (but appreciate that that might not be something readily available within XenForo.)

The Home page says there are 205 users online at present ... I think some appreciation is needed of the scope of the impact of this real-time DEV method on users, particularly the non-techie ones ...

That's the Forum software that drives this site (bit like phpBB or vBulletin, only better :) )

We were trying to avoid downtime, the server isn't coping well lately due to excessively high traffic.

              an announcement will be coming.

Dev has been done offline FYI but changes must be applied to live when completed.

In my opinion this is back to front RR.

Announcement of work needs to come first. Advanced notice would be great, but in an emergency just post a "We are working" banner.

If you have work to do in order to roll out changes then personally I think it would be better if you took the site offline. I think you are running a risk, with it being "upright" whilst changes are rolled out, that something will not gel properly.

For example, I and others are seeing "Unreported posts" at top of the page. This link isn't active (I get an error message), but if for some reason there was a security breach during such a rollout I think the backlash would be uncomfortable for Admins.

Even without that risk all online users are having some "difficulties" as the changes are made. I think a period of downtime would be better.

That also stops Google et al Spiders coming along and grabbing stuff when it is in flux and so on.

P.S. If you are busy working on the site RR don't reply to this now, happy you just get on with what you need to do, no need to also spend time replying to me :)
