The past 24 hours the max has been 12.4, min 1.6 ! Ought to be wearing shorts and tee shirt in the garden at this time of year but still in jeans and fleece. Reckon I'm about a month behind 'normal' years as far as planting out goes :dunno:

I think you're right Dave, I've still got daffodils in full bloom, they should have been finished weeks ago.

very cold today in the breeze, just basically a hideous day.

The outlook isn't good.. in fact it's dire.. there was originally a potential upturn in the weather but now it looks like the cold, unsettled theme with continue, with more frost and rain, sleet and snow (more like for higher ground of course) on the way... certainly this is the coldest Spring Ive ever lived through and it could well continue into summer too.

Without meaning to sound pessimistic (although it's quite difficult at the moment), I'd say Spring and potentially a good portion of the beginning of summer, have and will turn out to be an absolute disaster for gardeners. Our climate is very much definitely becoming worse!

Much the same here Sheal. About half our daffs still in full bloom and some tulips just opened.
Let's have a bit of that global warming

Well, it seems according to Stephen, it's not going to happen. Why don't we just abandon summer/autumn now and go straight to winter, it'll be much easier!

Apart from the rather too chilly breeze yesterday it was a vast improvement on the day before, the temperature topped out at 13.6 degrees and for the most part it was a dry day with plenty of sunny spells.

Looking ahead on Wunderground weather site it is gradually warming up; possibility of daytime temps of 19-20 degrees for the weekend and 8 at night, but still plenty of rain about :rolleyespink::)

Lots of blue sky this morning. 10C and the wind has gone too. Let's hope that this is a recovery day today,

7.53 and nice & sunny.Hot air ballon up in sky so I presume there will not be not much wind today.Wife up at 4:30am as she was wide awake.Went outside and it felt very cold at that time of morning.
Daft thing it is a nice day and I really have nothing to do in garden but bound to find something to do after a while,it is the waiting game now for the rush of planting out plants.
