As much as can be expected. She's still working like mad on preparing the plants for sale and labelling them (she's into the second box of 1,000). She has just told me that she has got three small rooted cuttings of the gold euonymous for you. If you want more you can prune the plant when you're here and take them with you - although the new growth is not the best thing for cuttings. Remind us about the hoya when you get here :blue thumb:

The winter has been rather harsh on us this year. We've lost at least 1,000 Aquilegia with another 500 badly burnt and stunted, lost a lilac tree, half of a large japanese maple and it looks as though the Phytolacca has had it!!

Sorry to hear winter has taken it's toll in your garden Shiney. I thought I'd lost my Choisya 'Sundance' having been buried under a snowdrift for three weeks on it's side, but with some tlc it's now looking good. :)

I emptied my composter today, the first time after eighteen months in use. My garden isn't developed enough yet to keep it filled but I was pleased with the results and my new rose bed is now covered with the contents. I've also dug over and weeded another bed and taken the chance of planting out a young Paeony, fingers crossed. Obviously I don't expect much from it fore the next two years, but look forward to seeing it in bloom at some stage.

Turned over the soil in two of the borders (heavy clay-ish soil, so turned it over to start breaking it up to dry a wee bit so I can improve its texture before planting); chopped up the dead half of Elder tree that I cut down the other day, and peas and beans were sown into peat pots to germinate before planting out once the border is prepared for them.

I have a notion of building a frame using some of the metal framework from my old polytunnel - that and some 2"x2" wood and some string; I'll endeavour to post a pic once completed.

                Nowt today!
Been to meadowhall shopping centre with the missus and little un :wallbanging: (I hate shopping)
The little un went to the disney shop and spent his pocket money he's saved on a car and the missus went in every clothes shop and came back empty handed :dunno: . Oh well
Had a lovely meal though at a rice restaurant :snork:
I'm off to a plant fair tomorrow morning and then b&q.
I defiantly won't come back empty handed :snork:

Planted out the strawberries. Bought bare-root sometime back and potted up at the time.

Also Brussels Sprouts and Beetroot (9cm pots).

I've (almost) finished taking the pergola down :hapydancsmil: Made pretty light work of it with my new Scorpion saw and it only took me just over an hour to take down three of the four metal poles which are holding it up :blue thumb: I had been dreading it so kept putting it off.

The last metal pole is in the corner and has a thick Wisteria stem growing up it. Much as I am loathe to cut it down it has to be done so will do that another day. It's really opened up that (north-west facing) corner so it's much lighter. I can now start jigging plants about in the top border.

Bought 3 different thyme at carboot, planted up and happy, made a start on re-potting my mints, very hard work so only done 1 so far,, removed ivy from big terracotta pot, where it had choked a fuchsia to death, put that to trail round side of planters, finished them off with the last 9 fuchsia, so planters done, planted the lobelia I bought last week after hardening off, also 2 centaurea I had bought. painted my hanging basket brackets with Gold...:rolleyespink: ,neighbour found in her shed, carried all my dahlia pots out of greenhouse into sheltered spot to start hardening off, just watering to do now then , walk dog with neighbour ,2nd time today and then it`s feet up I think.

Re-jigged conservatory from Growing Mode to Hardening Off mode ... all plants being hardened off will be over-nighted near the door, and the rest have moved further indoors.

Would be much better if I actually put them in the right place in the first place !!

Mrs K has done the first application of Roundup on Bindweed in the borders. This year we will be vigilant - Pinky-Promise :)
