Just had a bit of :heehee:

Was typing a reply which included the word: w.e.l.l.i.e.s (as in Wellington boots)

Now, it's one thing to advise a poster of a solution wearing wellies ... but quite another when the automated spell-checker corrects/overrides me

Go ahead! Try it ... :roflol:

Can't see it, the spell checker is on your browser, not GC.

I didn't have one till mine was upgraded recently.

I can guess what the suggestion was though:snork:

Is it? Well the cheeky wellie sneaking that in :nonofinger: Thanks for letting me know, Zigs

Think I'll keep it for a bit longer because it did give me a hearty chuckle this morning to start off the day (and that has to be a good way to start :) )

It's okay Mum, I've got one too now. It started when we changed to the new server, coincidence? I'd also like to point out it's American as it tries to correct my English spellings, grrrrr! :gaah:

It wasn't the new server as far as I know, but one of those tedious, "Please do not unplug your magic box, installing new rubbish" thingers that upgraded me to IE10.

Do you get it on other websites too (might only work in boxes, like this one, that span multiple lines, as distinct from data entry boxes that are a single like). Browsers like Chrome have had spell check built in for years (IE too I think, but you had to add an addon of some sort back then)

Assuming it is in your browser then that will be configurable :)

Sorry ,I've only just seen these last posts.

Zigs, I was only suggesting that it came with the new server. It's strange though that every time GC updates in some way, I get rubbish one way or the other at the same time!

Kristen, I very rarely use other sites as I find the internet very frustrating. I don't use Chrome so I have no idea where the spell check has come from.

My best-guess is that your Browser has upgraded itself to a newer version and the spell check has come with the freebie upgrade ... an "improvement" so to speak!

Yep, mine def came with IE 10, it checks spelling on the other sites I use too, which is annoying as I can't deliberately miss spell things like blubs.
