They do flop about, just do your best to support them so the stems don't snap. Once they are outside they grow like vines sideways along the ground rather than upwards.

There should be enough nutrients in the compost for 5 weeks or so, so no need just yet. When you prepare the planting hole add plenty of fertilizer, I've used chicken manure pellets and Blood Fish and Bone. Then when they really start growing I feed with tomato feed once a week in the watering can.

How are every ones pumpkin plants doing? I'm glad to say that mine have finally picked up (after me putting them out too early) and the past few days have started growing very fast. Ill show some pictures tomorrow. Also should I be watering them every day? Steve R I've just realised u live like 10 minutes from me, small world.

Small world indeed Allan...I lived in Workington for a few years too!

My plants are far behind everyone's this year and are tiny yet, but I'm not too worried as they wont be planted out for a while yet. The bed they will go in still needs digging and manuring yet.

I now have 4 plants growing and will plant out just two, give two away to other plot holders.

                Steve...:)

[Edit] Nearly forgot, I'll post some photo's later today...[/Edit]
