I finally managed to post this evening after hitting the 'Post Reply' button three times, and wondering each time if I would need to delete duplicate posts. There used to be a 'back up' of input that was useful in case a posting failed, but that has now disappeared (with the last upgrade?).

I wonder why these problems only seem to effect some of us (I'll keep my fingers crossed that I continue to avoid them!)

sadly the double like is ironically due to tapatalk, tapatalk with latest api won't accept the "post ratings" system, which removed those on tapatalk form saying "like" we've had to leave it as a legacy mode until the tapatalk update.

Xenforo 1.2 offers alot in the way of improvements both front and backend.

anything with prefix 1.2 is from the next update :)

Well I must be really lucky then as I have not experienced any of the problems you mention.. I use my Iphone to post on here regularly & although I have tapatalk I also have Chrome on my phone so post through that & it works just fine that way.. I can also access all the subforums too..
I also am not having the slowing down problems either  I wonder why some of you are having problems & some of us not...

This is exactly the same problem I have been experiencing for some time now. I actually couldn't shut down last night, I just kept getting the 'buffering' whirly thingy! :hate-shocked: I keep myself logged in permanently. Also, yesterday when I went to post a picture of a rose, Preview showed the attachment but when I posted it was not there so I had to edit and it showed it was there, and then it was there when I re-posted.

I have also received an e-mail from Roders, saying he can log in but as soon as he clicks on What's New or Alerts he immediately gets logged out so cannot post.

I think the only issue is that they don't show on the Home page, so folk may not (easily) find them to post a new message, and Googler's may not find them to browse - if indeed there is anyone who would want to do that!

On a positive note, I quite like the Home Page as I can click on/off what I want to see. For example, I am not interested in the Chat Line so I have it clicked off and I just have the title. Likewise, when I want to go into a particular forum, I go into that band and click it on and all the sub-forum titles appear, then I click it off when I am finished. I like keeping the Latest Posts open so I can quickly check if there is anything new without going into What's New.

Maybe it's down to individual internet connection speed?

I thought that, but then other sites would slow down too? (and presumably folk are noticing a problem with GC specifically?)

I suppose that the connection from some folk's ISPs to wherever the GC server is might suffer from increased latency at times, that would be outside GC's control (short of moving their server nearer ... to "everyone" :) )

This shows where the Gardening Discussion Sub-Forums are. If there was a notice in The Identification Area that Tropical Plants, Roses and Cacti/Succulents had separate ID sections within their respective forums, that would sort those out, leaving only Books, and if they were included in the title for General Gardening (or perhaps be moved to a re-named Tools, Equipment & Books) then it should be clear where everything is located.
