Victoria they are lovely , but.....
I wonder how they cope with the British cold long winter, warmed up by the heating system in the spare room and watered with the most expencive tap water in the world .

Oh, Sal, forgot to mention, some of mine are at least 4/5 years old and live outdoors here, an example, the last photo and the ones with the Verbenas.

Mine are watered with mains water, which is awful here, but full of nutrients because we are on red clay. I can't comment on living 'indoors' but I would think not a good environment for them. I think if you have a VERY sheltered area outdoors and in a southerly aspect PERHAPS they would survive outdoors.

Just love them .. and t'other half more so and insists I buy more each year but I have to look after them! :hate-shocked:

I`ve created this thread for the simple reason that keep see the plants on sale at my local market for £5 , sure they look great , but will it survive the winter?
but if they manage to survive over there , there`s maybe a chance over here .

strange that no one have one

Off topic, Sal, do you still want that Transcandia with the stripes going sideways (sorry, it's late and I can't think of the name). If you do, I actually rooted one for you but you never sent me your name/address ... so, do so if you want it. xx

Nada, querido ... just PM me your name and address and I'll send things to you, okay? I am a jungle here and overrun with things, also at my river property. If I want something I know you have, I will ask. xx

I grew it in the conservatory at my old house. It grew and bloomed well indoors, but only did well one summer outdoors. Likes to dry out between waterings.

It is a Red Spider Mite magnet indoors.
