Box Hedge

    My hedge has been in for 2 years now and the plants this year look fairly hedge like, meaning they dont look like a row of single plants. Do i wait until they are at my desired height before trimming or can i give them a light trim now ?

    If there's plenty of new growth i'd just give it a slight trim Mr G...then a foliar feed....that's what i've done:dbgrtmb:

    I think it helps to nip the ends of "branches" to make them bush, as the plant grows towards its intended height / width.

    Best to do any clipping pronto - Derby Day is the time to trim Box, best not to clip it late in the season as the cut stems may not recover sufficiently to keep pathogens out in the Winter - such as Box Blight.

      Hi Mr G...Mine have struggled...due to being under constant assault from dogs and chickens:doh:.....have had to keep replacing the odd plants and i removed a large conifer so added more plants that are struggleing to catch up....it's a bit wobbely but it's getting there...slooowly:redface:

        It may be slow loli but its looking good. Bushing up nicly.
