Know those only too well from 14 years in Alabama, tornado belt of the South. T'other half lost his place of employment the year 34 died in our small town in the mid 70s. Having dozens of them a year is a frightening experience I can assure you. Not only that, we always had the horrendous floods that followed.

Hmmm, wonder why I left there ....

Mowgley, just hope your brother and family are well and didn't sustain any damage.

A grey day today after having rain overnight and again light rain this evening. The garden's feeling better for a drink now. 15C.

My son is battening down the hatches in Columbus, Ohio in readiness for a big storm tonight, the temperature is currently 30C there.

A wild night and still howling out there this morning. The soft stemmed plants are bent but not broken. Dry, with a light cloud cover at 13C,

Well, the promised rain missed us again! We did have about half an hour of drizzle but it's very windy out there. About midnight, when I was on my way home, the car thermometer said it was 15C. It certainly felt quite mild.

It's 58f with patchy skies full of white, then grey, then black clouds and then showers of rain. The rain is welcome as it has been quite dry here for a while although I have watered the borders every now and then. Looks like the unsettled weather is here for the week at least.:coffee:

Had lunch with friends at the Chinese on the beach today (I have enough left for dinner, vegetable stir fry with chicken, egg fried rice and a spring roll). There was a hot breeze off the sea. Back here at home we are 31.5c and we still have to hit our high for the day (within the next hour or two) ... :phew: A thorough watering will be in order this evening ... both for the garden and myself ... off for a Mojita over ice now ... :heehee:

Thanks Loli! And your dance seems to have worked somewhat. Had a few sharp showers and a brief downpour and drizzle - so maybe you have hidden talents there. Veg loved it.

Today it has been blowing a gale all day long, temp around 17c but it feels really chilly (unbelievably heating on still ). Don't want to sound depressing but perhaps we will have to get used to this version of 'summer'.
