I'm not sure, but I think the RSM might have been sorted, for the time being. However, I did notice some quite fast moving creepy crawlies that I think might be Thrips?Any tips?

 

Its supposed to kill thrips as well Freddy.

I've got chewed leaves at the top of the plant (very holey, like lattice-work) I presume that's Capsid bugs?

What's best to treat them with pls?

 

Seem to have drawn a blank there Kristen. As I understand it, one needs to be quite careful when treating 'Brugs', something of a bind...

 

Back to the nice subject of a Brugmansia bloom. This one is called Alyces Charm from a friend called Carol( some may know her). Named after her grand-daughter. It is a nice shape and has a perfume like scent, as well as that nice bright colour. Hasd cheered me up on a another gloomy grey day.

seems that once you see the damage it is too late as the developing buds have been damaged and you have to wait for them to grow out (but you will get no flowers, because of bud damage, in the meantime).

The Capsid bugs are illusive, so may not be easy to see when they are about, I'll look into whether there is a time when prophylactic treatment would help

Well grown Pete, lovely looking standard..and that scent in this humid air is knockout!

I\ve got a Brugmansia in flower that took me back to being a kid opening a sherbet dab packet.
It's called New Orleans Lady and she's a double, last night night the 2nd bloom was opening and the scent was fantastic. Sat there with a mug of tea, and a big smile catching it's scent. Worth growing these bugger's for these moments. Here she is, should go peach coloured shortly.

Your leaves look so healthy Pete ... any secrets?

Lovely bloom Wayne. Charlie opened a bloom the other day after having a couple of months' rest. My leaves are a little 'blotchy' though and can't figure out why.

 

I've now brought mine outdoors. It's still not looking happy, but a bit better than it was. The roots looked ok though, so I've gone up a pot size. On the upside, there are lots of side-shoots

 

It's New Orleans Lady again, coloured up. She's sure does look purdy!!!
