I know the term in the context of Onions and Garlic where the "scape" immature flower head and stalk can be cut, fried and eaten :) particularly as you don't really want Onions / Garlic flowering at the expense of producing bulbs (although bulbs from plants that have attempted to flower won't store/keep for very long)

      Hi All

Foxglove 'Apricot Beauty' sown last year. The bees love them. And that is an Erisium 'Pastel Patchwork' in front.

Wow never seen a strawberry coloured Strawberry flower before, I thought they were always white? Super photo GA puts my point, press and hope for the best to shame.
LOL Simbad, can I have a borrow of your machete when your finished with it!!!? I too always over plant, partly because it takes a while otherwise for gaps to close and I have a constant battle with weeds and really just cannot afford to have areas of bare soil.
Delighted to give you a chunk of both Iris and a couple of Meconopsis seed heads. If you don't know the procedure to sow them I'll enclose an "idiots" guide!! Well I followed it and got success and am by no means a wizard at getting success with seed.
Looks like we are going to have to send each other a large box stuffed with swaps, don't think an envelope is going to do it somehow! Perhaps our large swap session should be discussed through pms? don't want to bore others, excited already tho at the prospect of lots of new things for next season.Get the fork out to move anything within a mile of your Sun and Substance, I've attached a photo of mine. This was a smallish pot from B&Q from memory about 4 or most 5 years ago. It ain't finished growing yet this year and is 10 ft from tip to tip atm. Hope you like the silhouette of me, (total rubbish at taking photos) it looks like an elephant!
