Saw it again just now. It stayed around long enough for us to have a good look. I'm going to leave it be.

A couple of years ago I decided to empty the dalek compost bin - lifted it off got the fork and stuck it in - as the compost fell apart, about 6 baby mice scrambled out (looked blind and with square faces) - after I finished shaking, I tried to push everything back and put the top back on.

On a lighter note - we have a mouse in the house (1st floor flat) - and have 2 cats !!! - Well in fairness the cats alerted me to it - it ran into the front room - (hubby was in bed - typically) - I went in there in full armour (trainers on and pj's tucked into my socks) - with my army of 2 cats. It had run under an armchair = I tipped it up - it ran again - under the settee - I tipped up again - and it ran under the TV stand - and all my cats did was chase it !!! Ended up waking hubby - but we lost it - and the cats lost interest too.

Thinking maybe because my cats are house-cats and have lots of mouse toys to play with they didn't know what to do. Not seen it since.

How do they get in and up the stairs without being noticed ? :heehee:

They can squeeze through the tiniest of gaps Sumbody. Your cats are obviously not earning their keep, invest in a Jack Russell! :heehee:

At the risk of seeming like somebody who's constantly searching the internet for the cheapest rat bait, I noticed this (same price @ B&Q less 15% off this weekend, so that's where I'm getting it from rather than Amazon).

So who do you give rat bait to as present?

Scrungee, your second advert is a better deal but only if you have a lot of rodents to get rid of. It's 5kg whereas the others are 1kg.

Yes, if I bought it in 5kg tubs from Amazon it would work out cheaper than 1kg tubs from B&Q on 15% off weekends, but I only use 1kg p.a. so it would be 45 months (a few more if bought @ 20% off) before I'd be into profit and I'd have to keep that big tub dry and in a metal bin all that time, otherwise it could go off or get stolen by rats other than ones I want to kill (had that happen before). During that time I'd also hope to find some reduced as that's when I've previously stocked up.
