I've been thinking the same thing. I got fed up of waiting for them so just stuck them in the ground and to hell with it. Need the room in my chilli house anyway!

Mine never did much last year, and they have come back this year (or self-sown) even more pathetic ... I'll see what develops this year and if nothing special they'll get ho!-ho!-hoed! next year :)

Redstar, you're hydrangeas are so much in advance of ours! Ours are only just forming flower buds.

Simbad, lovely colours. :blue thumb:. Our phlomis and cephalaria are a week or two behind yours:sad:. The Cephs are still in bud form.

joolz, Cephalaria is perennial and normally grows to 6ft - 7ft tall.

I took this as the sun was rising this morning. It's at times like these that I miss my SLR camera with the big zoom lens! This was taken with a simple digital.

Yep joolz as Shiney says a 6-7 footer, love my big perennials  this one was brought from my Dads garden many years ago a prolific self seeder here I've been thinning it out a bit this year, it was trying to take over the world lol, no easy task it has such a long tap root impossible to get out so a few plants have been treated with roundup to make room for a few different plants, I'll try to remember to collect seed for this years seed swap
