      Clever girl! :yay:

Is this a new hobby she has taken up, or is she already an experienced knitter?

My mother taught us all how to knit, sew a hem, sew on a button and a line or two of crochet plus how to make a rag rug from the time we were 5yo and upwards. (and she didn't discriminate against gender either!) Unfortunately, I don't enjoy any of those as a hobby (although I have still made a few rag rugs in adulthood and they last for years!) but I do admire those who knit, sew and crochet :dbgrtmb:

            Christina says THANK YOU!

She's been knitting for about two years now I think so has a made a few other things such baby cardigan and hat and a teddy bear. She's pretty good at quilting too, I'll have to dig some pictures out.

She's still scared of the sewing machine however, haha!

Oh, she can join my 'quilting bee' any time she fancies! Sewing machines were just *made* for pronto quilting

Top job, Christina!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Thank you, she's planned on knitting 3 scarfs by Christmas for friends. :dbgrtmb:

She said the sewing machine is too fast for her to keep control of where it's going. Just have to keep trying I guess.

Get her one of those lovely old ones with a handle at the back. Much slower and it's eco-friendly! :)

Now that's an idea, I bet they not that cheap though or maybe I could look for a manual one.

About £30 at the last boot sale I went to. I have one that I drag out for bits that need slow and careful concentration as I sew.

Does she drive the car fast? :heehee:

She needs to only apply very gentle pressure on the sewing machine foot pedal and not push it to the floor. In fact, just like learning to drive, there is no reason why she could just sit at the machine (unthreaded) and just 'play' with the foot pedal until she finds a comfortable "speed" for her. As with all things in life, it's about getting a "feel" for the beast you are trying to tame

She will have 3 very delighted and loyal friends after Christmas by the sounds of it :dbgrtmb:

She actually does drive like a maniac, and road rage too! It's quite an experience hahaha.:thud:

She does struggle with the speed of the peddle (sewing machine), I'm not sure if you can apply slight pressure to it. It's either on or off I think...bit rubbish.
