The leaf ends of a dandylion are usually quite semi circular.

            Cheers, Tony.

Looks like it could be mustard leaf, possibly 'Green Frills'

Or a blanched dandelion devastated by slugs?

Erm ... that very much depends on your personal perspective.

I'm in agreement with Jenny in that my first thought was rocket. Although Zigs has a point (and both of them have way, way more gardening experience under their belts than I have :heehee: )

However, either could be right, in which case, both will flower

I don't think it's a dandelion I can take more close up pics if needed, I was going to throw it away and plant something else in the pot, now I don't know what to do.

If it's rocket, keep it, harvest it and don't let it run to seed! (E.g. flower, get fertilized by buzzy bees and then have the flower head turn into a seed head).

Don't throw it away either; rocket is great in salads this time of year - even dandelion leaves make a (free!) and tasty addition to the salad bowl.

Harry123: this is what gardening is all about; identify it, understand it, then use it accordingly :) Even if you decide you don't like it (and, just so long as it isn't a weed), pop it on your compost so it can regenerate it's energy into giving you a lovely mulch in a year (or two).

I agree it looks very similar to the rocket leaf and dandelion but also looks like
Lactuca biennis which does also flower.

You can buy cultivars of the regular dandelion, that grow much bigger than the ones so many mis-name as weeds:)

Don't think I've seen Dandelion leaves go red like that before. Has it got a taproot?
