Bet it's fun and games at the end of the season with all that caboodle Armandii. A high price to pay for a tomato sandwich,
      Jenny

Actually, it saves all the fun and games, Jenny, of the plants falling over and stops a lot of swearing when you find a broken plant.:dunno::snork: The cradle is made out of 2" x 2" timber [spare in the garage] and each one took me about 20 minutes to make. The canes are easy to push in and pull out, and means I can tie any stray stems to them in seconds and the whole thing can be disassembled in seconds again. Believe me, it saves a lot of stress:hate-shocked::snork:

Well, the Maskotka still look as though they are going to be the first to give me something edible, and judging by the lightening colour of the toms on them, I don't think it will be too long now :dancy:

Scruffy blighters, but I don't really care to be honest - they are already starting to load up with fruit, and there are a few trusses still setting.

I should have guessed that one  - I've not had any dry sets, but I have had a few SB ones.

The indoor team aren't letting the side down either:

Just a couple of the many trusses that are in the greenhouse.

FC - your Maskotkas are IMPRESSIVE! and your toms are much bigger than mine and nearer to ripening.
                Congratulations :catapult:

                  I've got a couple on the 'turn':dancy:

Something I've noticed this year compared with others, the trusses are so much bigger/longer, so fingers crossed for a large crop, yummy:)

                    Thanks Jenny :)

I'm sure yours will catch up once the warmer weather gets going. I think the strategy of giving them a kick in the pants with some chicken poo fairly early on, and then latterly moving to tomato food has paid off for me; that and the fact that this year is considerably better weather wise than last year was.

I have already eaten more from the garden this year than I had by the end of the season last year.

EDIT - and my confidence in my own ability is better this year, which I think is helping me be more methodical in my approach (watering and feeding is more consistent for example, and I feel that I am interpreting the signals that the plants are giving me a bit better - even if that means I head for the laptop to get advice as to what to do from the good people of GC!)
