    Hiya Loli.

Yes, some of the leaves are ok, but the central leaf has had it. Imo, this means that particular Onion has come to the end. I would just like to know what it is, in case there's a risk to the rest of the crop.

        Hiya Loli:)

I'm pretty sure (as I can be) that it's not White Rot. I had that at a plot I once had, and one of the obvious signs was the bulb rotting away. The bulb on this one looks fine, if a bit small, compared with the rest:blue thumb:

Sorry Freddy, not a problem I've encountered before so not much help!

          Could it be onion fly?

Pull it out, check for larvae(maggots).

Check all of them, just to be on the safe side (I've got to win this competition somehow!).

            Hiya folks.

Well, I dug it up and there were no signs of anything wrong, indeed, the roots looked very healthy, it took some getting out! Ah well, just one of those things I guess:)

That's a shame loli, I've had quite a few of my Red Baron sets sending up seed heads in the past week. When this happens with sets the bulb becomes elongated and it doesn't store, so they are the first ones we eat. So don't give up on it yet.

Nip out the flower bud asap.

Strange it's only affected one. Did you eat it Freddy? I'm keen to know if all this effort is worth it in the taste department.

                Hello chums:)

I've been giving the 'feed' some thought. I'm thinking something high in Potash. So, Tomato feed springs to mind. Thing is, even Tomato feed has added Nitrogen, something that I want to avoid, given the possible problems with 'Bull Neck'. Any thoughts?

Might be best to avoid any Nitrogen, you don't want to end up with onions like mine.
