        Aaawww FC,
of course I'm sad that it happened and that it will incur expense you could well do without but 'tis life innit? It will have honed up your awareness skills no end and you won't do that again.
And from Mrs FC's point of view, I'm sure she's like me in that when she has a momentary "misdemeanour" ,she knows you won't point a :nonofinger: at her.....
        :grphg:
still a bloomin luvvly day and there's the GH waiting to offer consolation when you get in..

Ouch, ouch and ouchie! (car, FC and bank balance!)

Isn't it always the way? These things happen when we can least afford them :grphg:

I hope the bodyshop boys will give you 'mates rates'.

Thank you "M" and Jenny namaste - I hope they will do me a decent quote given the amount of business we shove their way, but no paint job is cheap, especially when it is metallic paint.

They are pretty good to be fair - I used them a few years back when my Jag got clunked whilst parked at work - only cost £120 at the time.

Its going to be a couple of months before I can afford to even think about a proper repair, so I have time to get quotes.

Well, it turned out that my boss was also less than chuffed about the damage to my car, mainly because I was doing the company a good turn by being on site overnight, but also because I only ended up parking where I did because of the works that I was there to oversee taking up all the other parking spaces with vans and equipment; with that in mind, he has sent me to the body repairer that our company uses to repair third party vehicles to get a quote, and to get the ball rolling on getting it sorted........ with the company picking up the tab!

Now that is what you call a thoroughly decent employer, and a damned fine governor. :)

                      Thanks Woo :)

Its a relief as much as anything to be honest - removes the worry about fixing it before corrosion sets in. The body shop that they are using are top notch too (handles mostly prestige cars), so I am confident that the repair will leave the car looking as good as new.

I am really lucky that way - my employer is good to all staff really, but my guv is particularly fair minded.

In fairness, he knows that I will be right in the middle of it all, grafting away, whenever the brown smelly stuff is really hitting the fan.

Good, genuine employers are pretty thin on the ground these days FC but
hard working, diligent and loyal employees are equally very precious and worth rewarding in various ways.
