Rotting Peppers... Please Help!

The first four peppers I have grown this year have all rotted before ripening. It's happened on the bottom and or sides of the fruit. The plants seem healthy and I haven't found any insects or grubs on or in the rotted fruits. I took a picture of some of the ones that recently rotted.


If it helps, I am container gardening on my balcony. I get about 7 hours of direct sunlight each day and have been using Jobes Organic fertilizer every two weeks through my watering can.

I'm new to this and by no means an expert, but any help would be great.

 

Looks like blossom end rot to me. Its usually caused by a calcium deficiency in the soil but can also be caused by irregular/insufficient watering.

 

Any way to easily and cheaply try adding calcium to the soil?

If it helps, my tomatoes and jalapeños are thriving.

 

Given the weather recently I'd go for "irregular/insufficient watering." But it could also be your two week feeding, I feed about every four or five days.

 

Possible, but note that DT is not in the UK, so the weather we've been having may not be the same weather DT has been having

 

Correct, I'm on the east coast of the US. I have the plants on the balcony, so I water them every day or two depending on the heat.

Another forum suggested I might be over fertilizing. The other plants in containers are thriving.
