I have just about had my fill with the vast number of morons that are on our roads [IMG]

In my area today, we have Hampton Court Flower Show, and Kempton Market; the traffic for both of these events has to use one single A-road which rapidly disappears up its own rear end, and the resulting tailback of traffic snakes back onto Sunbury Cross Roundabout (under J1 of the M3); this is where the trouble starts - people get impatient, and then start blocking the yellow boxes that are placed at the head of entry roads to the roundabout which then fairly rapidly causes a grid-lock situation where everyone is sat looking at each other unable to move because the person in front of them can't move and so it goes on around the roundabout.

In the line of my public transport duties, I ended up at Sunbury Cross to see if I could get any interest from the police to clear the congestion, and to see if there was anything I could do to help people with some local knowledge and get them off in a different direction to get them where they wanted to be. I stood for the thick end of four hours guiding people as best I could to get them out of the gridlock and away, and whilst many of them were grateful for the help, there was also a significant number that chose to simply shout abuse at me for the traffic gridlock that was taking place. I was all the effing bar-stewards under the sun, and according to some there was some sort of effing one-cure for my ailments. And why? Simply because I was wearing a hi-viz.

Yeah, the guy walking up and down the road giving alternative directions to those in need, and trying to help alleviate the congestion is the cause of the gridlock!

The best of it is, once the police arrived, the two officers and myself stopped three of the entry roads onto the roundabout for a few minutes (no more than three or four) to allow the roundabout to empty, and once we had done that the traffic started to flow quite freely.

      Next time, I won't bother helping.[IMG]

Aaaw FC. It's amazing how the heat, when stuck in a vehicle, turns folks from Dr Jekyll to Mr Hyde isn't it? I'll bet they didn't mouth off to Mr Plod in his Uniform.
You are indeed a very kindly soul and it won't have gone unnoticed by many out there or us on GC either,

Completely agree about the idiots on the roads! I work right by goodwood, so have the festival of speed for the next few days. What irritates me more is that these idiots are supposed to be car enthusiasts! They should learn to drive!!!

Well said, Woo :blue thumb:. I think it's much nicer to say you like something than to just click a 'Like' symbol, but I realise that people have time constraints (some people have to work for a living :lunapic 130165696578242 5:) so only have time for a click. :)

I had a complaint the other day. I bought two packets of Sainsbury's Oven Roasted Monkey Nuts in Shells. The packets have a sign displayed prominently on the front say 'Not Salted' - twice.

I opened up one packet, put my hand in and brought out some nuts in shells, as well as some roasted salted peanuts (not in shells)!!! I then looked at the other packet and saw that also had about a handful of roasted salted peanuts in there.

I phoned the Customer Care line and reported it. After taking all the inof from me they told me to keep the nuts and they put £5 worth of points on my Nectar Card.

                  Thank you, Sainsbury's. :dbgrtmb:

If you're like me writing is hard so a click on a smiles or a like and agree is best for me,or it may take me an extre 5 minutes to write some thing in a post, and yes spelling is hard for me too

                          Dear Woo,
the trouble is I like so much of what I read in everyone's posts that a visual"nod of the head" has to suffice some days,
                          :grphg: will this do tonight?
