My Pregnant Onion has gone into labour!

Ornithogalum longibracteum gets its common name from its unusual way of producing new bulbs.....................

 

I've been meaning to get one of those. Are they easy to look after?

 

So far it has been..................

 

Well, make sure her bag is packed and ready for the hospital. Notify her midwife. Boil some water and have plenty of towels ready. Then take more pics!

ps does flower in winter or summer???

It has a flower spike now, so bang goes the theory!

 

It can actually become a bit of a weed.
The bulbils break off quite easily and then spread around the greenhouse.

I had this a while back, but got rid of it.

 

Result! Gotta be better than the Japanese Anenomes that came up this year!
