Rose report

They are glowing with pride Sheal,

'Rosy Cushion' looks a picture at the moment, view from my bedroom window today, there are 4 bushes planted together here well over 5ft tall as you can tell by the swingseat in front, great rose never suffers from blackspot or anything else quite near the bird table too so a good place for the birds to hide .

Thank you Jenny and Simbad. 'Blue For You' the closest one in the picture was the second one to bloom and amazingly it's holding on to it's flowers with a petal drop on the first one today.

 

Aha!! I wonder if that is what my pink cluster rose is?

 

I thought that when I saw your picture "M" depends how big the flowers are 'Rosy Cushion' flowers are 6cm across but it does look very similar to 'Ballerina' whos flowers are smaller at 3cm across.

 

Aaaw thanks GA I can't recommend this rose enough it flowers non stop till October or later!!!!!

 

Hello - happy to be able to join in this section as I LOVE roses and now have a few silver jubilee roses that I am expectantly waiting to bloom. Funnily enough, staring fixedly at the buds doesn't seem to make them bloom quicker..

I was watering this morning though and discovered a couple of branches of my young roses have been torn off :( I think it's neighbouring cat. My rose must look like a very tempting scratch post. It's only young and so a little branch feels like a third of the plant has been taken off. I'm thinking maybe netting all round the plants to keep cat away from temptation until the rose is more established? They are very much a favourite and it pains me to see bits being lipped off them!
