Just found signs of life on Blacky! Always discarded it as I thought that it was tender:doh:

New Fuchsia's are showing a faint sign of growth after the cold weather we have had.
Just hope that we get enough to take some cuttings and produce a few more to help them survive over the next cold spell at the end of this season.

My Fuchsia 'thalia' (F. triphylla) is waking up, it's got many buds! Nice to see.. also I have two Fuchsias in the front waking up, both supposedly tender none hardy ones, coming back from old stems..

Always grow mine in pots as they're not hardy.

How are your fuchsias coming on people? My overwintered ones have had a variable success rate, some not making it at all, others looking pretty good, some are still trying but obviously struggling - one of those being Rose Quartet, which is a shame as I liked its slightly different look. Hopefully it'll come through - Scotkat I've not forgotten my promise to send you a cutting, if it produces something that looks like it'll survive I'll be in touch!

Obviously, I couldn't resist buying some new ones which are blooming and looking very happy. Oh...and I just put in an order on Simply Seeds & Plants for four lots of six - well they were half price. It would have been rude not to!
