I've just had a chat with my neighbours across the road (we are so lucky to have fantastic neighbours all round), who asked about my flower bags that I have at the end of the drive - they have just put up decking and balustrade, and were so impressed by my bags they were wondering where they could get some, and said that they loved what I had done with the front of the house :dancy:- what a compliment!

I've got some spare bags and a wee bit of compost, so hopefully my neighbours will be able to get some surfinia or trailing fuchsias tomorrow and I'll plant them up for them. Its catching this gardening lark!

You have the place looking fantastic, really like the bags. Are they just those strawberry bags or what?

And your landlady must wish all her tenants cared for the homes as much as you FC. It's a very pretty picture for your neighbours opposite to view each day.
You've got me thinking :ideaIPB: , how can I make a long basket to hang on the gate? I think it may brighten up the latter part of Autumn if it was filled with pansies,

              Thanks all :)

I was dead chuffed, not least as this particular neighbour has a really nice house - never thought I'd see the day that I was getting compliments about my garden though; best of it is, I don't really count the front as a garden, most of the work is in the back garden.

Jenny namaste - you could easily hang a flower pouch or two from the gate, which would be really pretty :wub2:

It would compliment your lovely front garden really well :)

They are the eezee flower pouches that I got from T&M - probably available elsewhere I'd imagine.

EDIT - They are :blue thumb:

I love the hanging basket stand too mate, is that a dedicated one? Or something else?

                  I am mate, thanks :)

Its a dedicated hanging basket stand that I got from Amazon last year - Linky - Its going to need some long bolts drilled through it to strengthen it for next year, but that's no biggie really. Its not as though its all that expensive for what it is.

The baskets looked really sorry for themselves tonight - all the petunias were drooping, gasping for a drink the poor wee things; nearly 37º here today though, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Looks lovely FC - and such satisfaction knowing you grew everything from seed - and I need to thank you too - I bought one of those hanging basket stands - and my friend loved it too - she got hers from the market last Sunday for a tenner !!!

It would be great to flower up my front garden - unfortunately I know from past experience, anything I put out the front that isn't nailed down will go walkies where I live.
